New updates to Marriage License System

A new version of the Marriage License System has been rolled out with exciting changes to make it even easier to obtain a marriage license.  This includes updates to the marriage license application and officiant submission system. As we transition to this new system, there might be some bugs and bumps in the road. Please email us with any errors or problems you have, and we will do our very best to ensure a smooth experience.

Some key changes:

End to the Linear Process:

The most significant user experience enhancement is the ability for couples to complete the application in any order. Until payment, applicants can skip steps or go back and edit their information. (make sure to type in your info with mixed caps, as this is how it will print on your finished application/license)

Email Verification:

As part of the process, each applicant must enter their own email address, and then click on a link in an email sent to that address to verify it. This ensures that applicants have access to the email address where we will be sending documents and other information.

Requirement to use a Smart Phone:

The new ID verification will only work with a smart phone or similar device with a high quality camera. Applicants can no longer upload images as part of the application process.

Accessing the Officiant Submission and Affidavit for a particular couple:

Couples will no longer be instructed to forward their email to officiants. Instead, upon being issued their license they will be directed to a screen where they can either print the officiant worksheet (with QR code) to bring to their officiant, or they can enter the email address of the officiant and send them an email (that will come from the county) with their marriage license information including a hyperlink.
